According to the bird lover/photographer that I live with, there have been only five reports of such sightings on Project Feeder watch in Kansas this year. For the record I said that there were 5 reported sightings of pilated woodpeckers in Kansas this season on the Cornell Project Feederwatch website. Most other types of woodpeckers have been sighted much, much more so I would say it is a rare bird sighting and worthy of note. Great job getting a good shot of Woody, Ray.
