On a Serious Note!

Am I the only person troubled by the giant give away planned by the Democratically controlled congress with a 25% approval rate? Lets see, it seems like yesterday that everyone was running around and saying the President is a jerk for spending all the money we don't have and it is ruining the present and the future for our children. Now, we are going to give, not spend, give everyone $300.00 so they can spend our economy back into shape. Yea!
If everyone reduced their debt by that much or saved that much it would be a great thing. I predict what will happen is most people will rush to WalMart, Radio Shack, or the local gas station and spend it as soon as the check clears. It will raise the trade deficit and help the economy of China and the oil producing countries.
Oh well, the snow is melting off fast and soon we will be able to go out side in light coats and track in a little mud. Mud is a good thing.

  1. You are definitely not the only one worried about that! I know if we get any of that it will go straight toward paying off debt. Shoot, our 13 1/2 year old, 19 inch screen TV is still good for a few more years. Too bad the jokers in Congress probably are as well. Any chance of MUD Goes to Washington?

Us retired people won't get any money. I would like some to help pay for the gas that we buy for our 100 mile trip to KC every other week. Oh Well!
On another note the bars and Applebee's are smoke free in Lawrence and they had the basketball game. Just in case KU ever tries to do another pay for view basketball game. Shame on them.

The giant givaway plan was Bush's idea and only agreed to by the Democrats. It is Bush's quick fix plan.

  4. According to my calcs, I should be receiving the maximum rebate.

Every single time reductions and rebates are done, the national debt is reduced from the infusion of money into the economy. Businesses get more money and more taxes are received because of it.

John Kennedy pushed through the exact same type of thing and the national debt was reduced by half in two years. The very same thing happened three years ago.

Anonymous, blaming Republicans or Democrats for anything ignores the fact that they are the same in action once they are behind closed doors in DC. Luckily, the Democrats are on the right page of this instance philosophically, but they will make up for lost tax time when Obama is elected President. Remember the late 1970's because that is exactly where we are headed again.
