If you go over to The Righteous Buzz and see her post, it is a challenge to all of us out here in the real world to realize our challenges and how small they are. There is a video of a (SP?) who was born without arms or legs. His comment is, "To a man born without arms or legs Nick Vujicic should be thankful for that little chicken leg of a foot." He has never given up and feels that a man without purpose has no meaning. A Man without meaning has no hope.
The most amazing thing about the video is that he laughs and talks about how he has a purpose in spite of his limitations. He said he has no limits only limitations and they are few.

Thanks MUD! I am praying for your anonymous commentor!
ReplyDeleteOkay... this is really bugging me and you can probably help me out... is it commentor or commenter? I think it may actually be commenter but it just looks weird to me.
I am stuck on this personal responsibility "I am-not-a-victim issue" today. Here's a children's book about the difference it makes between two princesses' lives - granted, it's an eco-friendly book, but - HEY! ya gotta get life's lessons where you can get them!

Mad, again.
ReplyDeleteI guess it would help if I posted the link: http://beabookworm.blogspot.com/2008/07/cinder-edna.html
Okay,

Have you ever heard of Kyle Maynard? He was born with only stubs for arms and legs yet he wrestles at the college level. He wrote an amazing book called "No Excuses" which is a good read. (Okay, the descriptions of the wrestling moves during part of the book got a little dull, but the menfolk seem to like them.) It was actually recommended reading for the stock market class I'm working through. I checked it out from the library, but I'm going to buy a copy for Josh (our wrestler). It's an inspiring book for anyone, though. If you google "Kyle Maynard" you can find numerous news stories and several YouTube videos of him wrestling.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm stuck on that same issue Mad is concerned with! I'm going to check out that book. This is something we desperately need to be teaching our children before this country becomes a nation of nothing but whiners.
