Grillin'

Yesterday we went by Sam's Club and found a brisket that probably weighs in at 10 lbs. I grilled it indirectly over a smoky hickory fire for about 4 hours. I sliced it and covered it with BBQ sauce (KC Masterpiece just so you will know) and it will get another couple of hours tomorrow at somewhere between 200 and 250.

Not to waste the day on the patio, I did some brats, some burgers and some chicken thighs. (I use the skinless boneless thighs and they are great cooked slow and smoky). I am now sitting here in the basement cooling down.

With the watermelon we have, dinner tonight will be spectacular. Dinner tomorrow will be even better.

Oh my Lord! If I lived anywhere near you I'd be heading your way right now! Enjoy!

I am sorry to hear about your Mom. I will be praying for her and all your family. Please keep us posted!

  2. Uh, where's them photos of the properly charred meat, sir?

That story sounds like me cooking for Bean, enough meat for an army and then I bag everything and freeze it so she doesn't just eat Skittles and ice cream. Right now though, she's laying on her couch asleep with the aftereffects of drugs from getting her wisdom teeth pulled. NO MEAT FOR HER!

    I covet brats.

And chicken and watermelon, I got a racist joke in my bag of tricks here somewhere......

  4. Oh yum! How far away do you live? I'm prepared to follow my nose.

You know, I read just last night that watermelon is a natural version of Viagra. No lie. Enjoy your evening. :)
